Joshua is a Clinical Psychologist, and member of the Australian Psychological Society. He has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Australian National University, and is recognised by Medicare Australia as a qualified provider of psychological services.
Joshua's professional experience includes conducting therapy and assessments for adults and adolescents. Joshua supports clients to address behavioural, emotional and interpersonal difficulties with strategies from approaches that have a strong evidence base, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational interviewing.
Joshua has experience in working with a number of issues, including treating depression, anxiety and stress. Joshua is passionate about helping his clients in building confidence, increasing motivation, and effectively managing avoidant, or unhelpful behaviour.
Joshua also has experience in providing parenting skills training to assist parents support children with autism, oppositional behaviour, and anxiety issues. Joshua is passionate about supporting parents and children to work together in their family.
Joshua's style of therapy is directed at assisting people to overcome the obstacles that hold them back from their greater goals in life. Joshua's focus is on helping people identify, understand and address the unhelpful patterns of thoughts and behaviours that end up holding them back from their potential. By empowering clients with helpful tools and different ways of thinking, Joshua aims to help clients to take action to develop meaningful and value-driven lives. Joshua practices with utmost respect for his clients, and this is reflected in his therapeutic style – working in partnership with clients to help them move towards what they really want to be about in their lives. By asking the right questions and empowering clients with the proper tools, Joshua supports clients to understand and to take action in pursuit of their most important life goals and ambitions.
Joshua is registered with Medicare as a provider of psychological therapy services, and therefore clients will be eligible to obtain a rebate from Medicare or their health insurance provider where applicable.
